Bombing of the original clubhouse
Many of our newer club members will be unaware of some of the darker episodes in the club history. Like many sporting clubs in Northern Ireland, Dunmurry suffered at the the hands of terrorists, with bomb attacks on the club on two occasions. In the early days of the club, a rented villa was used as the original Clubhouse. Later a barn was purchased and converted into a Clubhouse which was in use until 1976, when it was bombed and destroyed by fire.
These photographs provided by John Scott show the full extent of the damage to the clubhouse.
