Darren Crowe wins The South of Ireland Championship

Winner of the South of Ireland Amateur Open Golf Championship The South of Ireland Amateur Championship is the second oldest GUI Championship being first played at Lahinch in 1895
Darren joined Dunmurry Golf Club as a Juvenile in 1992 he was Captain of the Fred Daly team in 1998 and was juvenile Captain in 1999. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in golf and for being an excellent ambassador throughout the world on behalf of Dunmurry Golf Club, Council made the decision to honour his achievements by awarding him Honorary Membership in 2003
He has represented Dunmurry Golf Club in the Junior and Senior cup, the Belfast and District Cup and the Barton Shield. He has been selected and played for Ulster and Ireland and has been considered for the Walker Cup Team.
In addition to winning the South of Ireland Championship Darren has also won:
The North of Ireland amateur Championship in 2006
The World University Golf Championships in Thailand in 2004
The Munster Youths Championships at Killarney in 2000.
The Connaught Boys Championships at Athenry in1999, and he was runner up in the South of Ireland Championships in 2005 and 2006
To celebrate Darren’s achievements and as an inspiration to our future Juveniles, Council have agreed to purchase a cup to be called the Darren Crowe Trophy which will be competed for annually.
